About

Hostel Del Funk was manifested by Robert Mathias. Robert has been traveling and living a nomadic entrepreneur sovereign soul life style for over five years now.  He has travelled extensively inside and outside the United States with road tripping across Latin America and attending a lot of music festivals both in the US and in Latin America.  During his travels, he had the vision for a travel themed World Boutique on Shakedown Street for music festivals in the US with a goal of helping people relax and dream by Funking Up their Vibe and Hostel Del Funk was birthed.

#FunkUPYourVibe

He went on a quest to Guatemala, a calling to go to Lake Atitlan, a magical ancient volcanic crater lake surrounded by five volcanoes and populated by the incredible Mayan people.  A country he had never been before, to search for tailors to work with and to source hand woven Mayan fabrics to upcycle into dance and festival inspired clothing.  From this call to Guatemala, and traveling across Latin America including Mexico, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, his own line of clothing Moksha Moda was birthed.  Also during this time, he has made connections with other conscious creators across this beautiful planet of ours.  Fast forward to today, Hostel Del Funk now features multiple different conscious creators, all of whom source upcycled fabrics for their creations and is ethicaly crafted, from the US, Latin America, and Europe in our World Boutique on Shakedown Street.  Hostel Del Funk featured conscious creators include Starlily Creations, Yo Soy Una Mas, INTO Textiles, Magical AF, and Moksha Moda.  We have vended at festivals around the US including Wormtown, Resonance, Lost Lands, Summer Camp(Scamp), Wakaan, Hulaween, and many others!   Plus with Hostel Del Funk, we have had other conscious creators rotate into our World Boutique and will continue to do so in the future.  These creators bring with them their latest threads, jewelry, artwork and of course a VIBE.

Besides showcasing the latest threads, jewelry, and artwork from our featured conscious creators, we are also a community hub at music festivals.  We are more than just selling clothing.  At every festival that we are at, we open up the boutique to anyone looking to facilitate any event that is community focused such as workshops, talks, classes, jam sessions, drum circles, meet ups, cacao ceremonies, yoga, and story telling.  This past year, Robert has facilitated events such as Road Tripping Latin America, Espanol con Cafecito, Crypto Meetups, and late night jam sessions but only if the Vibe is Right.

Plus at Hostel Del Funk, we continue the travel theme by offering hostel amenities! We always have a chill area created with a hammock and chairs so that festival attendees can relax and dream. We also charge devices for festival goers.  Plus we are a safe place for anyone who may be having a difficult trip and needs a place to crash.  Our hammock is open to all.
